Wall or Partner Striking
There’s no substitute for striking and receiving the ball to build technical skill. Players can do this activity using a wall or rebounder, or with a partner (sibling, parent, friend). We encourage creativity here - do corner kicks, free kicks shots, volleys, etc. to mix it up. We also want to strongly encourage technique and utilizing both feet. For the purposes of the Challenge, we are recording Partner or Wall Strikes based on how many touches the player uses to receive and then strike the ball.
Three-Touch Strikes: player 1) receives the ball with the in-step, then 2) pushes the ball away from the body with the outside of the foot (setup touch/active touch), then 3) strikes the ball with the third touch.
Two-Touch Strikes: player 1) receives the ball with the in-step (or outside of the foot), then 2) strikes the ball with the second touch
One-Touch Strikes: player strikes the ball with the first touch (one-time/first time) when the ball arrives. Free Kicks or dead ball scenarios would also be one-touch strikes.
